If you tire of the tranquility of the villa and pool and feel like some action, here are a few suggestions:

 

• In the village there is a large grass football pitch, netball court, a small playground and skatepark.

• We look across to a hill which has a tiny chapel at the top, Our Lady of Miremar.  It’s a beautiful spot for a picnic with stunning views down on to the bay of St Tropez.

• Kayaking, canoeing or paddleboarding on the various beautiful rivers within a 30 minute drive.

• Zip-wiring through the trees at several ‘Go-Ape’ French equivalents nearby

• Go-karting 20 mins away

• Paint-balling at night (a firm favourite of our boys!) 20 mins away

• Huge funfair which is also only open at night when it’s a bit cooler - 25 mins away

• Aqualand with every waterslide you could want - 30 mins away

• Endless watersports and sailing available on many of the beaches

• Boat hire available at various places like Port Grimaud, St Maxime etc

• Golf courses and driving ranges within a 30 minute drive (Gassin, Beauvallon, St Maxime, St Endeol, Barbaroux)

• Walking.  There are gorgeous walks through the woods straight from the villa or up to the Cross and Roman Fort above La Garde-Freinet from where you get 360 degree views all the way from the Alps to the sea.  We are on the edge of the Massif des Maures National Park and so there are endless tracks to explore.  There is also a beautiful coastal path which starts from St Tropez and goes all the way beyond Toulon.

• Les Gorges du Verdon is the very impressive ‘Grand Canyon of the Cote d’Azur’ with kayaking, rock climbing, hiking etc available

• Catch a ferry to the beautiful Îles d’Hyères and explore the islands of Porquerolles and Port Cros.  No cars are allowed on the islands so you can hire bikes or venture on foot.

• Cycling is very popular around us but beware of the many hills!

• Tennis.  There are municipal courts available to hire in various villages nearby .

• Skiing.  There are various resorts within a 2hr 30min drive including Isola 2000 and Auron.
